For those interested in visiting Kauai even though the race is cancelled, are our flights and hotels also going to be cancelled? Can you please help coordinate with the visitors bureau to let us know what we should do? ( Do they prefer / require that we cancel the trip too?)
Aloha John, If you are not planning to come to Kauai than I would highly recommend canceling your flights and accommodations as they will not be done automatically for you. Several participants are still planning to come to the island so cancelations will be on an individual basis. I hope that helps!
Where can we expect our numbers shirts etc especially for signing up 2021 shirt extra long sleeve extra one will they all come in the mail?
Also for viral finishers do we get our medallion?
I love this run!!!!!!Kauai girl all the way!! Please email
Mahalo????
Aloha Kip, If you are a Kauai resident, there will be a central pick up location on the island. If you live on the mainland or an international destination, we will mail everything out. We are hoping to get everything prepared to ship out by mid August, but it will depend when the race bags and medals are shipped to us. Mahalo for supporting the virtual race!
Will you sell Kauai 2020 t-shirts, as would normally be available at the race expo? Can’t tell you how disappointed I am that this year’s race has been cancelled (this makes four cancellations since I ran Huntington Beach Surf City 02FEB2020). R/David
Aloha David, We have 2020 merchandise available online right now that you can purchase. Please check out this link! https://www.raceentry.com/races/the-kauai-marathon-and-half-marathon/2020/shopping
Aloha
Have a fewe questions. I ran the half from 2009 till 2014?
Since then I have had six operations to fix my neck and spine.
Just now three weeks post op for L1-L4. So my my running days are deceased.
I’ll pick up my exercise routine by July. I skied almost 30 days last year before the back gave up the ghost.
So is 16 minutes the required pace and are Nordic walking poles ok to use.
Will be 73 in 2021 and thinking if I rehab correctly I might able to walk at a 15 minute pace.
Any help would be appreciated /Rick (720) 289-1760
Aloha Rick, Mahalo for reaching out to us and you are an inspiration! Yes, you can use the walking poles and a 15 minute mile will be fast enough to get you through the tree tunnel before they re-open open it to traffic. We hope to see you in 2021!
Are you still doing this race this year due to Covid?
Aloha Brittany, we just announced the pivot to a virtual race last week. The response has been overwhelmingly positive!
